About the Doctor

Olga M. Sanchez-Hernandez, D.M.D., M.S., M.S.

 Dr. Olga M. Sanchez-Hernandez has been providing families with exceptional orthodontic and pediatric dental care for some time. Dr. Sanchez earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1990. She then obtained her Doctor in Dental Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry in 1993. In 1996, Dr. Sanchez received a Master of Science in Clinical Dentistry and a Certificate in Clinical Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 1999 she completed a Master of Science in Oral Biology and a cerificate in Orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her unique and extensive training makes her one of the only dual trained specialists in the nation.

Dr. Sanchez feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. Thus, she maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Birmingham District Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontics, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Birmingham Pediatric Dental Society, and the UAB Alumni Association.

Dr. Sanchez and her practice contribute to numerous charitable organizations, including the Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, American Heart Association, Birmingham Zoo, Children's Dance Foundation in Birmingham, McWane Center in Birmingham, United Way, U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Georgia, and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Birmingham.
